Welcome to The Wren’s Nest
This is my weekly journal—a quiet space where I share the little moments that shape life at Rustic Wren. It’s a behind-the-scenes peek into the studio, the creative process, and the thoughts I’m still unfolding. I hope it feels like a letter from a friend.
Sometimes it’s the quiet seasons that offer the most clarity—and the simplest conversations that remind us why we create.
It’s been a reflective season. Slow. Spacious. Since Christmas, really. That kind of quiet has let me pause and consider what Rustic Wren really means to me—not just as a business, but as something much deeper.
At the same time, the workshop at Fabrik has been full of life—visitors dropping in, drawn by the scent of leather and the warmth of craft. They always ask, “Why did you start this?”
For a long time, my answer was practical: I love working with my hands. I wanted to make something meaningful.
But this week, I sat with that question longer. And I realised—Rustic Wren is a quiet rebellion.
- A rebellion against the disposable.
- A return to what matters.
- A space to slow down and remember who we are.
That intention is showing up in my work. I’ve been creating more of the Landscape Journals lately—pieces that feel as if they’ve been shaped by time. Raw. Textured. Uniquely their own. Each one feels like a conversation between me and the leather—no two alike.
And hearing how people have received them—the stories they’ve already started to carry—reminds me: this work matters.
