About this notebook
Everything the range builds toward.

Not because it is the most expensive. Because it is the most considered. Because it is the one Jess makes for herself -- and when a maker decides to keep one for their own use, that is the only review that matters.

Full-grain leather doesn't wear out. It wears in. The colour deepens, the surface softens, and it ends up carrying marks only you could give it.

The Wren is everything the Traveller's Range has been building toward. The structured build of The Curator -- internal sleeves, full-length stitching, four spine elastics -- and then one thing more: a raw edge front pocket, cut from the same hide as the cover and left exactly as it came. No finishing. No two identical.

Pick it up. The weight of it is right in a way that is hard to name until you have held it. You will smell the leather before you open it. The raw edge of the pocket will darken and soften with use until it looks like it has always been exactly this colour.

The pocket holds whatever needs to stay close. A folded page. Something you're working through. Something you haven't named yet.

The blue wrens were always around Jess's childhood home in the Adelaide Hills -- small, territorial, completely at home in the landscape. The brand took its name from them. This notebook took its name from the brand. There is a logic to that.

Seventh generation on the same piece of country. Still making things by hand. Still leaving the edges honest.

Available in A6, A5, and A4. Most people choose A5 -- the size Jess carries every day.

Initials pressed into the front panel using a traditional hot embossing machine -- a method unchanged since the 1880s. No foil, no ink -- just heat, pressure, and time. On the Wren, with its raw pocket and considered build, the embossing is the last thing that happens before it leaves the studio. After that, it belongs entirely to the person whose initials are in the leather.

01
THE ONE THE WHOLE RANGE BUILDS TOWARD
The Settler is where the range begins. The Wren is where it ends. Five notebooks, each one adding something. This is the full answer.
02
THE FRONT POCKET IS THE DIFFERENCE
Cut from the same hide as the cover. Left raw. The edge will mark, darken, and soften in a way that is entirely its own. It holds what needs to be close -- not filed, not finished, just within reach. That is a different thing from a sleeve. That is a pocket that knows how you think.
03
THE ONE YOU STOP LOOKING AFTER
You have been here before. You have tried other notebooks. You know the difference between buying something and buying something you will still be reaching for in fifteen years. This is the latter. Stop looking.
04
REFILLABLE FOR LIFE
The leather accumulates everything. The inserts are replaceable. In ten years -- in twenty -- it will still be getting better. Each insert holds 60 pages. Keep the elastics balanced and build it as thick or as slim as you need -- this notebook grows with you. Slide out the filled one. Slot in a new one. Keep going.

THE LAST THING THAT HAPPENS
After the cutting and the stitching, one step remains. The notebook goes under the press and comes out carrying someone's initials. It is the final act of the making, and the moment it stops being ours and becomes yours.

What people say
Real people. Real leather. Real use.
The leather smell hit me the moment I opened the box. Three months in and it's already mine in a way I didn't expect. It goes everywhere. I haven't used a different notebook since.
Sarah M, Melbourne
The Curator -- Ochre -- A5 -- November 2025
Bought this for my husband's 60th. The initials on the front were the detail that got him. He opened it very slowly, which doesn't happen often. Couldn't have been more right.
Wendy K, Adelaide
The Curator -- Blacksmith -- A5 -- October 2025
I was looking for something I wouldn't have to replace. I've had this eight months and I can already see how it's going to look in five years. That's a good feeling.
James D, Brisbane
The Curator -- Worn Saddle -- A5 -- April 2025
I came back for The Curator after The Scribe. The sleeve system makes sense once you're using it daily. Jess was wonderful to deal with -- a genuine response from a real person.
Bianca T, Sydney
The Curator -- Inkwell -- A4 -- February 2026

Add The Wren
A note from Jess
The Wren is the notebook I make for myself. It is the Curator's structure -- the internal sleeves, the four elastics -- with a raw edge pocket on the front, and it is where everything I have learned about these covers ends up. I carry the A5 every day. I don't have a better recommendation than that.
